PeriVision showcases its novel glaucoma diagnostic system at the World Glaucoma Congress in Rome.

PeriVision combines artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR) and the cloud to build the next generation systems to understand visual function. We build a virtual suite of functional eye tests which patients can perform on portable and ergonomic VR headsets. Their doctors can configure the tests on a cloud platform and view the measurements and analyses after testing. Across the entire workflow, PeriVision deploys AI algorithms to make the tests faster and more reliable, virtually assist patients, assess the test quality and provide doctors with deeper insight.

The company’s first product is a glaucoma software suite to address the large unmet need to diagnose and monitor glaucoma, a degenerative eye disease affecting 80M people globally, in a more patient-friendly and efficient way.

From June 28 to July 1, PeriVision exhibits its system at the at the World Glaucoma Association’s World Glaucoma Congress 2023in Rome, a global gathering of leading eye doctors and key opinion leaders in glaucoma diagnostics and treatment. They also present the findings of a small-scale study on the system’s usability and patient comfort conducted by Dr. Kevin Gillmann, a clinician

“The system was very well accepted, also by older subjects, and perceived as much more comfortable and easy to navigate. We also believe that the portability and virtual assistance could improve access, e.g. by testing patients who suffer from mobility issues or live in remote areas”, says Dr. Gillmann.

So, if you are in Rome and interested to learn about the future of eye care, stop by the booth to test your eyes and enjoy some Swiss chocolate!
