Your role and responsibilities include


We are seeking ambitious, creative, and highly motivated PhD candidates to join our team as part of the ADC3 doctoral research project within a European Research Network. This role is designed for researchers with a strong interest in drug discovery, biophysics, and analytical technologies.

  • Conduct groundbreaking experimental research that creates value using ORYL's technology

  • Work with cutting-edge photonics and spectroscopic tools.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Europe.

  • Contribute to high-impact publications and international conferences.

  • Contribute to R&D development at ORYL.



We need somebody who


Technical Skills

  • Lab instrumentation and sample preparation.

  • Knowledge of ultrafast/nonlinear light microscopy, spectroscopy, DLS/SLS.

  • Data/image analysis proficiency.

  • Programming skills for data acquisition and analysis.


Soft Skills

  • Independent problem solver.

  • Passion for innovation and scientific challenges.

  • Adaptable, proactive, and collaborative mindset.



What we expect



We are looking for students with the following ​qualifications

  • MSc (or near completion) in: Pharmaceutical sciences, biophysics, physics, chemistry, nanotechnology, optics, materials science, or related fields.

  • Proven academic excellence, awards, or distinctions.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

  • Excellent written and spoken English.

  • Mobility Rule: Applicants must not have resided or worked/studied in Switzerland for more than 12 months in the past 3 years.

About us



ORYL Photonics is a startup located in Epalinges near Lausanne (Switzerland). We are the first company to commercialize laboratory instruments based on Second Harmonic Scattering, a non-linear optical effect which is triggered using femtosecond lasers. We have just launched our first instrument, the ORYL F1, tailored for solubility and aggregation-research within industrial and academic life science laboratories.
