‍About the job : Haya is seeking for highly motivated candidates to join our R&D team in Lausanne and contribute to the development and application of advanced technologies in RNA-based therapeutics and diagnostics.

Senior Genomic Biomarker Scientist  : As an experienced and engaged Senior Genomic Biomarker Scientist, you will work in close collaboration with computational biology and pre-clinical R&D teams. You will apply your scientific acumen and creativity to build ViewHAYATM, a top-notch platform for biomarker discovery and validation. You will drive this platform forward to identify and develop CDx for HAYA’s therapeutic assets. You will provide matrix leadership and inspire others with your creative ideas as well as your technological and domain insights.


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Build and lead a small team of ~2-3 scientists to drive novel diagnostic and prognostic RNA biomarker discovery studies.

  • Design, conceptualize and develop experimental and analytical procedures.

  • Lead the strategy,  development, validation and implementation of genetics and genomics-based biomarker assays.

  • Be a subject expert in order to evaluate and apply genetics and genomics technologies and assays to ensure we gain relevant insights from precious sample materials.

  • Manage all aspects of out-sourced (CROs) work packages.

  • Actively participate in internal and external scientific meetings through presentations and critical evaluation of both internal results and emerging scientific literature.

  • Inspire your team members and other scientists and train them in the application of new technologies.


Qualifications:

  • PhD in molecular and/or RNA biology or related discipline with at least 5 years of experience in biomarker research.

  • Strong expertise in genetics and genomics biomarker assays development.

  • Deep technical expertise in molecular biology (PCR technologies) and next generation sequencing applications across platforms in various matrices (e.g. tissue, blood, body fluids, cells).

  • Strong knowledge with tools, and resources used for the analysis and interpretation of genomic data.

  • Proven excellence in building and managing scientific teams and completing challenging projects.

  • Excellent organization skills and familiarity with a fast-paced work environment.

  • Collaborative spirit and ability to thrive in a matrixed environment.

  • Proven track record of handling multiple high priority tasks in parallel with internal and external collaborators.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
