The Alpine High-tech Venture Forum (AHVF) will be a unique event for the most innovative entrepreneurs operating in Switzerland and its surrounding regions focused on Life Sciences, Clean Technology and Information Technology to meet and present themselves to active international investors and corporations seeking for investment and partnerships.

AHVF is hosted by Canton de Vaud and will be this year in its seventh edition. It plays an important role in the promotion of the dynamic and innovative professional entrepreneurs within the Alpine area. It also promotes the venture capitalists in the Alpine area and the rest of Europe to support their partnerships and investments.

The best high growth companies
Some 40 early-stage companies active in the high technology sectors will be selected to present at the Forum by the Selection Board, who will assess them on the basis of their business potential, technology merit, competitive position, investment interest and team experience.

Presenting companies will be:

  • From Canton de Vaud and Switzerland
  • From surrounding regions (including Rhône Alpes, Franche Comté, Alsace, Baden Würtemberg, Bayern, Tirol, Aosta, Piemonte, Lombardia, Trentino Alto Adige – Süd Tirol
  • High technological entrepreneurs focused on ICT, LifeScience and CleanTech

BioInnovation Day 2018 will take place at Campus Biotech, Geneva’s life sciences hub

Building upon the success of previous editions, BioInnovation Day 2018 will provide an opportunity for researchers, scientist-entrepreneurs and early-stage start-up ventures to pitch their projects to an audience of peers, venture capitalists, investors and licensing / partnering professionals from industry.

The 2018 edition will feature project pitches by researchers from all academic institutions of the Romandie covering all areas of the life sciences, as well as presentations by invited speakers on various topics relevant to academia-industry partnering and/or entrepreneurship. The most promising projects will be selected by a jury to receive the BioInnovation prizes.

Biopôle will be present at BioInnovationn Day and is happy to be one of the donators of the Incubator Prize.

The winner of the Incubator prize may choose where to incubate his/her start-up. Depending on the chosen incubator, the benefits are as follows:

Biopôle (Lausanne)- 20’000 CHF in kind
  • Free access to StartLab for 2 people, including all needed labs and equipment, for 12 consecutive months
  • One desk in the open space area
  • One bench in the lab area
  • Free access to Biopôle’s administrative support

The workshop will explain the mechanics of term sheets for partnering transactions and explain how they are different from term sheets for equity financings. How does the timing of your research collaboration affect your next financing round and vice versa? What are the different forms of exclusivity and how do they affect your company going forward? You will get the tools needed to navigate on the thin line enticing potential partners and giving access to your technology under value. The workshop will further give hands-on advice how to prepare for due diligence and how to meet expectations of industry partners and investors without losing sight of negotiation strategy, intellectual property issues, confidentiality, and privacy concerns.


Workshop leader: Christian Wyss

Christian Wyss specializes in drafting and negotiating contracts for clients from the Life Sciences and Information Technology industries. Christian has extensive experience with technology transfer and license agreements, research, development or marketing co-operations, clinical trial agreements, contract manufacturing agreements and distribution agreements. He regularly works with clients in financing rounds, acquisitions, or joint ventures and assists with intellectual property related issues in M&A transactions. Christian also advises on implementing compliance with the Swiss data protection laws.
