Eco-anxiety: a podcast amplifying the voices of those who are taking action for tomorrow

For the first time, mental disorders are the leading cause of hospitalization among 10–24-year-olds, with 19,532 cases (Swiss Federal Statistical Office, 2022). “We’re seeing more generalized suffering in this age group, in particular in connection with climate crises.” Camille Nemitz-Piguet, associate psychiatrist HUG /UNIGE, MD PhD. Today, we lack common narratives and alternatives to gain serenity in the face of tomorrow’s world.

The agencies RADAR RP, in Épalinges, and Podcastschmiede, in Winterthur, will be holding their microphones out to people who have gone into action mode. The podcast will be aimed primarily at young people between the ages of 16 and 30. It will be in French and German. The issue of mental health is well known: the breaking news arouses strong emotions. Sustainability researchers, psychiatrists, journalists, a Nobel Prize winner and other experts in various fields believe in this project.

A crowdfunding campaign has been launched to cover the production costs of this bilingual series. The call is out to all those who would like to support this initiative.
