biped.ai recognized by EU-Startups 10 promising European startups helping the blind and visually impaired

biped.ai was recently featured in an article from EU-Startups, highlighting companies that are helping the blind and visually impaired.

Based at Biopôle, biped.ai is an innovative, AI-powered mobility vest designed for people with blindness and low vision. The device, named NOA, uses 3D sounds to guide users, serving as an ideal complement to a white cane or guide dog. By providing real-time environmental feedback, biped.ai empowers individuals with visual impairments to navigate their surroundings more safely and independently. Founded in 2021 and developed in partnership with the Honda Research Institute, biped has secured €2.14 million in funding to advance its cutting-edge accessibility solutions.

NOA is an all-in-one vest for people with blindness and low vision. It’s a vest worn on the shoulders, with wide-angle cameras on the left of your chest, a small computer on the right, and a battery behind your neck. It’s like wearing a mini-Tesla on your shoulders. It identifies dangers, guides you, and describes your surroundings with AI. All of that in less than 2 pounds.
