MoleSense joins Biopôle’s Investment Programme

We’re pleased to welcome MoleSense to the Biopôle Investment Programme (BIP). After joining our Vanguard Accelerator programme in January 2026, MoleSense are gearing up for the next stages of development as they transform their molecular wearable from breakthrough concept to real-world product. The BIP will help the MoleSense team to prepare for these critical next steps by providing key financial and entrepreneurial support.

A boost at a critical moment
Founded in 2025 by EPFL alumni Gian Luca Barbruni and Ata Golparvar, MoleSense is advancing women’s healthcare through molecular wearable technology. Its core innovation is a patch-like medical device that continuously and non-invasively monitors biochemical markers, such as proteins and hormones in the sweat of pregnant women. By providing real-time insights into molecular data, MoleSense enables proactive, preventive care for high-risk pregnancies.
Attracting investors for further fundraising will be key for MoleSense as it moves beyond a proof-of-concept and ventures towards clinical trials. ‘Now is the ideal moment to increase our visibility, attract strategic interest, and secure the funding needed for our next major development milestone,’ explains Gian Luca Barbruni, CEO at MoleSense. ‘We see the BIP as an important step in becoming investment-ready and positioning MoleSense for its next fundraising round.’

Joining a comprehensive 24-month support scheme

MoleSense are the most recent company to join a roster of promising start-ups supported by the BIP. The programme was launched in late 2025 as an evolution of the successful Start-up Fund. Other companies who have benefitted from the BIP include Emovo Care, Precise Health, Evidone, Ai.Qimia, Calico Biosystems and Prevision Medicine.

The BIP programme offers non-dilutive financing of up to CHF 90,000, with no strings attached. This financial support is embedded within a structured training and mentoring programme to master investor relations and build strong foundations for long-term growth over 24 months.

Pierre-Jean Wipff, Innovation and Partnership Director at Biopôle SA, says, ‘We are delighted to welcome MoleSense as the latest company to join the BIP. The programme provides a fantastic springboard for companies advancing into the next phases of development, and the coming months will be particularly exciting for MoleSense as they look to refine their product and attract further interest from investors.’

Biopôle Investment Programme

The Biopôle Investment Programme is a comprehensive 24-month scheme for start-ups based on the Biopôle campus. The programme offers much more than financial support – indeed, it seeks to help start-ups build the foundations of long-term success by providing expert guidance, training in investor-style due diligence, and introductions to a panel of investors. This goes hand in hand with a starting fund of up to CHF 90,000, which can be used to support a wide range of expenses. In addition, programme participants facing high clinical validation costs can apply for the Pre-Clinical Top-Up, which is designed to boost external investor support by CHF 250,000.
