Combioxin SA and University of Bern announce a CHF 1.1 million non-dilutive funding support from the Swiss Innovation Agency (Innosuisse) for the development of a novel drug to treat acquired immune deficiency in critically ill patients.
The research supported by Innosuisse is conducted as a collaboration between the laboratory of PD Dr. Stefan Freigang, at the Institute of Tissue Medicine and Pathology of the University of Bern, Switzerland, and Combioxin SA at the Biopôle in Epalinges, Switzerland. PD Dr. Freigang and his team’s expertise in molecular and cellular processes of immunopathology provides the strong scientific foundation of the approach.
“This Innosuisse Innovation Project grant propels our new program forward for critically ill patients” said Samareh Azeredo da Silveira Lajaunias, Managing Director of Combioxin SA. “Our goal is to address an important medical need and the synergies between our company and the laboratory of PD Dr. Freigang are instrumental for this unique approach to reach patients in the years to come. We are deeply grateful to Innosuisse for their trust and support.”
