Postdoctoral Researcher (F/M, 100%)


LOCATION: AGORA CANCER RESEARCH CENTER, LAUSANNE, SWITZERLAND

START DATE: 1 APRIL 2023

Position Summary
Under the supervision of Professor Denis Migliorini, you will perform cutting-edge research to support Limula SA in the development of a closed, compact and automated Cell & Gene Therapies manufacturing platform. You will bring your passion for science and innovation and contribute to the development of a new technology enabling fast and scalable gene delivery into human primary cells for therapeutic applications.

Your mission

You will lead the scientific activities of a highly innovative project, working on the development of new gene-transfer methods leveraging the unique functionalities of a novel technology developed by Limula SA. You will take ownership of a wide range of tasks, working in a multidisciplinary R&D project, in collaboration with academic researchers and industry partners.

Your contribution

The selected candidate will work at the AGORA Cancer Research Centre in Lausanne and will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Design and execute gene transfer experiments, troubleshoot methods and interpret data

  • Coordinate experimental work done in collaboration with Limula and other third parties

  • Supervise students performing experiments in the context of this project

  • Identify continuous technology and process improvement opportunities and contribute to product development in collaboration with the engineering team at Limula

  • Ensure exhaustive and thorough documentation, write reports and scientific publications

  • Presents results clearly and concisely to the team, to industry partners and to external parties

  • Liaise with external partners to collect user requirements and feedback on prototypes


Your profile

The ideal candidate should have a doctoral degree in Life Sciences or Bioengineering, with good knowledge of cell biology and immunology, and extensive laboratory experience of molecular biology, human primary cell culture. Specific knowledge of pre-clinical production and characterisation of CAR T cells or other gene-edited cells using viral and non-viral gene transfer would be a plus. We encourage applications from individuals with industry experience.
